Having gained first hand experience training the many and varied bloodlines on the international competition circuit, Kim has specially selected mare lines which have proven and excelled themselves in the competition arena. Kim Weston uses selection criteria which place high importance on the inheritance of ride-ability, soundness and movement , being of the opinion that these are essential prerequisites for the highest level of the sport.
Freudenprinz/Floristan/Peoria/Ibikus
Feodora’s sire, Freudenprinz by Floristan was winner of his stallion grading, and sadly passed away after having only stood for 2 seasons. His few, high quality offspring have gone on to achieve great success and are renowned for their rideability.
Florestan (by Fidelio out of Raute (by Rheingold)) is a legendary breeding stallion, especially of dressage horses and even though he was not actively competed himself, he proved his worth as a top producer. Florestan became a true foundation stallion, stamping his offspring and creating a breeding line of his own. He was awarded 2004 Westfahlen Stallion of the year; he was the runner up on the 2011 WBFSH Dressage Sire Ranking, thanks to his successful offspring competing at Grand Prix level dressage.
BrentanoII/Feodora
Brentano II was a foundation sire for the Hanoverian breed; sired by Bolero out of renowned brood mare Glocke (by Grande x Ferdinand). Brentano ll became the 1985 Hanoverian Licensing Champion, 1986 reserve stallion performance test winner and Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 2003.
His daughter, State Premium Mare Bona Dea became the champion of the 2000 Ratje-Niebuhr Elite Mare Show. In the Brandenburg area his daughter Poesie produced a whole new dynasty with World and Bundeschampion Poetin and the licensed stallions Samba Hit I to IV.
BrentanoII/Feodora
Brentano II’s damline is one of the most important for Hanoverian breeding, as it has roots back to the Schumann-mare S449. Stallions Garibaldi I and II, Wolkenstein I and II and Beltain, as well as Beatriz Ferrer-Salat’s Grand Prix horse Beauvalais are all related to Brentano II. Westfalian Beltain (Bolero x Grande) is currently a popular stallion in Warendorf, as his son Belissimo M has achieved great successes at the Bundeschampionate.
Don Bedo is captivating in profile with first class basic gaits. Sired by Donnerhall, one of the worlds great dressage stallions, his dam is sired by Rosenkavalier, the sire of another great stallion, Rubinstein I; her dam is by the prepotent and important Thoroughbred producer, Angelo xx. Don Bedo won the NRW stallion championship. He impressed with his high rideability and ultimate elegance. He has produced excellent foals.
Lubeck/Saardia
Lubeck is an imported German Holstein, whose pedigree contains the legendary Ladykiller, Cor De La Bryere, Ramiro and Wie Ibikus. Lubeck has produced many beautifully moving horses. In her competitive Dressage career Saaskia often received an 8 for paces.
